Snow is finally falling, so naturally that means it’s time to think about summer! Registration for this year’s edition of Summer Music Festival at South Shore Conservatory starts on January 30th. There are a bunch of wonderful programs to choose from for musicians in grades 4 through college. I have the privilege of working with Band Explorers, and both the Summer and Festival Wind Ensembles. Visit this link and check out the flyers below for more information. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
This summer’s shaping up to be a busy one – I’m also looking forward to teaching at NEMC’s Chamber Music Intensive from July 25th to August 8th! We’re lucky to have so much wonderful chamber literature for our instrument, and it will be a joy to explore it in such a beautiful setting. Please see below for program details, deadlines, etc.
The New England Music Camp Chamber Music Intensive (CMI) is a 2-week program for gifted high school musicians between the ages of 14-18 yrs old (strings, winds, and piano) on the beautiful shores of Snow Pond.

I’m thrilled to be teaching at South Shore Conservatory’s Summer Music Festival again this year! Programs are available for students in grade 4 through college. Some of last summer’s highlights included a faculty-student Mozart octet performance, a world premiere for wind ensemble, and many wonderful hours of learning and music-making. For more information, please visit: summer.sscmusic.org/smf – registration is due by June 15th, so don’t miss out!
Join me at South Shore Conservatory for an outdoor, socially-distanced Summer Music Festival experience! There’s nothing better than the joy of making music together in person, especially after how isolated we’ve all been during the past year. Musical opportunities are available for students in grade 4 through college, and tuition assistance is available. I hope to see you there!
I’m excited to join the faculty of the Summer Music Festival at the South Shore Conservatory this year. I will be working with horn students in the Summer and Festival Wind Ensembles. Looking forward to a great two weeks of music-making!
Registration for AQBW 2019 is now open! Ryan, Greg and I had blast with our students last year, and we’re looking forward to round 2, only this time bigger and brassier with Katie and Matthew. Learn more and register at: andromedaquintet.com
It’s hard to believe with a chill still in the air, but summer is right around the corner… This June, WCMS is offering a week-long afternoon camp for students who want to join the band next fall! Designed for those entering grades 4 through 7, students will learn the basics about each instrument family, and find the woodwind or brass instrument that’s right for them. Instruments are provided, and financial aid is available. You can register here, or contact me if you have any questions.
Though it’s hard to believe, summer is right around the corner! June through August is the perfect time for students to expand their musical horizons. It can be challenging to practice by yourself for three months – participating in a summer program helps to keep students motivated, while enjoying all the good things summer has to offer! Listed below are a variety of opportunities across MA and New England for students in middle school and high school. There are many more programs located across the country, and abroad – more resources are listed below the table.
